holiday with Mum (Guernsey & Lille)
So Mum came to London for a special birthday celebration this year. We had a wonderful day on her birthday - with a yummy home cooked brunch (if I may say so myself), a posh afternoon tea at the Athenaeum on Picadilly and then off to the Queens Theatre in the West End to see Les Mis!
We also had a wonderful fortnight away in Guernsey and then France. Guernsey was just magic. A week felt like ages without feeling like it was dragging on. the island is beautiful and I especially liked the south coast cliff walks. You will see the stunning vistas in my photos.
The following week we caught the ferry to St Malo and then the train across the Lille. A town we normally pass through to get to somewhere else in France or Belgium, it is actually a very pretty town and worthy of a long weekend! We ate some amazing cheese, pate, bread, cakes etc whilst there. Good job we'd done loads of walking in Guernsey to prepare us for the french calories! Whilst in Lille, we had some lovely day trips to Paris and Bruges.
