Betty: No Poem Can Ever Do Justice To Pauly Happy On This His special Birthday, But Here Goes:
FRANK: WE REMEMBER, WE REMEMBER
Betty: When darling Pauly was born
FRANK: 'TWAS IN KANSAS CITY, YES MISSOURI
Betty: A place of special beauty.
FRANK: WE REMEMBER, WE REMEMBER
Betty: That cold 25th of November
FRANK: 'TWAS IN NINETEEN FORTY-FOUR
Betty: When the whole world was at war.
FRANK: WHEN AIR FORCE PILOT DADDY PAUL
Betty: For his Country stood tall
FRANK: IN ITS TIME OF NEED.
Betty: He was there indeed
FRANK: NINE MONTHS AWAY FROM HOME
Betty: Imagine the thrill,
FRANK: IMAGINE THE JOY,
Betty: When word came:
FRANK: IT'S A BOY!" A BOUNCING BABY BOY.
Betty:Oh, what joy, what joy
FRANK: THE WAR WAS RAGING
Betty: His Dad in a plane
FRANK: HIGH IN THE SKY
Betty:My, Oh My.
FRANK: BRAVE MOM
Betty: And her mother
FRANK: AND GREAT-GRANDMA, TOO
Betty: Cuddled and loved
FRANK: LITTLE PAULY TRUE.
Betty: Watching with concerned eye
FRANK: EVERY TIME TINY PAULY
Betty: Would coo or cry.
FRANK: PAULY BROUGHT LOVE AND LAUGHTER.
Betty: Sometimes he acted a little Sappy.
FRANK: WHY NOT? AFTER ALL,
Betty:His last name was HAPPY.
FRANK: HIS PROUD DAD,
Betty: far off in the war,
FRANK: LONGED FOR THE JOY
Betty: Of holding his bouncing boy.
FRANK: LITTLE PAULY THRIVED.
Betty: The family rejoiced.
FRANK: PAULY'S DAD HAD SURVIVED.
Betty: The war almost won,
FRANK: DADDY HAPPY CAME HOME
Betty: To be with his son
FRANK: AND HIS DEAR WIFE, MEL
Betty: (For Melvene, of course)
FRANK: HIS HONEY BUN.
Betty: The three Happys
FRANK: SNUGGLED IN THEIR NEST;
Betty: Little Pauly between
FRANK: WAS NEVER A PEST.
Betty: To be hugged in the middle
FRANK: HE KNEW WAS BEST.
Betty: When Pauly moved to his own little bed
FRANK: MEL & PAUL WANTED A PLAYMATE WHEN ALL WAS SAID,
Betty: A baby girl, a sparkling gem.
FRANK: FIVE YEARS LATER
Betty:To their delight,
FRANK: BABY PEGGY CAME;
Betty: Oh what a sight.
FRAN. YES, YES, 'TWAS IN 'FORTY-NINE
Betty: A gift more precious
FRANK: THAN GOLD OR WINE
Betty: Beautiful and pleasing
FRANK: JUST RIGHT FOR PAULY'S TEASING.
Betty: A new friend for every season,
FRANK: NEW HAPPINESS FOR EVERY REASON
Betty: No time to rest
FRANK: PLAY TIME WITH PEG WAS ALWAYS BEST.
Betty: Thus, the story that began
FRANK: NOVEMBER 25 OF 1944
Betty: Has become a welcoming door.
FRANK: PAULY AND PEGGY AND DORA TOO
Betty: Are all H A P PY Strong and True.
FRANK: NOW AS OUR POEM MUST SURELY END
Betty: All our love we send
FRANK: AND AS WE WEND
