Email 2:
After a hard day of work, i have dragged myself into Gulu town to write to all of my beloved friends...
So how am i? I am not sure when I last wrote the last email but I think it was a while ago, but in any case sorry if I repeat myself..
Well the school is going along fairly well even though there are some pretty huge arguments within our teams which are causing delays to the building work...we have less than 2 weeks left and are still on ground level...but we'll see what happens- all I know is that the majority of us are still working our muzungu asses off which is good.
The anti malaria tablets are making me burn through factor 60 sun cream which is rather painful at times but never mind, we have enough other working injuries to make up for it! (and I will never forget the laughing children-at me not with me-when we don our sunblock, hat etc etc )
I am getting used to having to go to the well to get my bucket water to clean myself with in the evening and that yes im not so brown after all-just dirty!!
We had some more 'adventures' with part of our team going missing, after we got separated by getting stuck in the mud (but this time a minibus in a national park). It turned out they had missed the last military convoy out of the park and had to stay there overnight but cpuldnt get in touch as the military turn of their radios at night.(very useful in a war that goes on at night...) It turned out to be nothing (thank god) but we made it to the national press, and woke up the british ambassador etc!
Last weekend we went on the ultimate tourist trip and went white water rafting at the source of the nile...it was amazing, even though we capsized in one of the most dangerous waves which was scary but fun anyway!!
